During the meeting, Pichai shared, "It was an honor to meet PM Modi during the historic visit to the US. We shared with the Prime Minister that Google is investing $10 billion in India's digitization fund." He further revealed that Google would be opening its global fintech operation center in Gujarat's GIFT City, a significant business district under development in Gandhinagar district.

Pichai praised PM Modi's foresight, considering his vision for Digital India ahead of its time, which now inspires other nations. The CEO, who joined Google in 2004 and became its CEO in 2015, also commended the rapid technological advancements under PM Modi's leadership.
Last year, Pichai met PM Modi in New Delhi and witnessed the remarkable pace of technological change happening in India. He expressed his enthusiasm for continuing strong partnerships and supporting India's G20 presidency to promote an open internet accessible to all.
During his India visit, Pichai attended the 8th edition of the Google for India event, where he interacted with Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology. Pichai's visit aimed to assess the progress made through Google's $10 billion, 10-year India Digitization Fund and explore new ways to advance India's digital future.

Google's efforts include the development of a unified AI model capable of handling over 100 Indian languages for speech and text. This initiative aligns with their global endeavor to bring the world's 1,000 most-spoken languages online and facilitate access to knowledge and information in users' preferred languages. Additionally, Google supports the establishment of a multidisciplinary center for responsible AI with IIT Madras.

In terms of language accessibility, Google has introduced Project Relate, an app designed to understand non-binary speech. The app, available to Hindi users since early 2023, can listen, comprehend, and repeat. Furthermore, Google plans to introduce bilingual search result pages in India, with Hindi already supported and additional languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali to follow. The voice search feature has also been enhanced to better understand Hinglish, considering factors like accent and context using a new neural network model.
During his US state visit, PM Modi also met with Amazon CEO Andrew Jassy and Boeing CEO David L Calhoun. Jassy expressed his commitment to generating employment opportunities, digitizing small and medium-sized businesses, and facilitating the export of Indian companies and products worldwide. Calhoun emphasized PM Modi's passion for India's development and his interest in the country's aviation and aerospace sectors, highlighting the significant role India can play in these areas, both domestically and in the broader region.
